Doris McCraw

Author & Historian

Doris A. McCraw is a mid-westerner who found her home at the foot of Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. As a child, she would sit and listen to the stories of those around her. It was the beginning of a lifelong passion to find and share the stories of those who preceded her.
The midwest where she grew up was filled with stories of pioneers who braved the wilderness to build forts, towns, and businesses. The Mississippi River, near her hometown, also inspired a love of nature.

Once she found the obituary of Julia E. Loomis she began a journey to tell the stories of these early women physicians who gave so much. It became her mission to make sure their names were not forgotten.

Doris also writes and publishes fiction under the pen name Angela Raines.
All her work can be found on Amazon.
